Every discipline has its own language. Film of course has a filial relationship with literature, because most of the stories start off as scripts, screenplays, and the whole idea of style, characterization, plot etc is also in film but the orientation is totally different. In any good movie, the camera should tell the story. Whether you spoke the language of discourse within that film or not, people could still follow it.
